Community Broadband Development
Provide strategic planning, market analysis, and economic development services to communities evaluating their broadband options. Co-facilitate stakeholder input and feedback processes in collaborative engagements with SmartSource Consulting, feasibility study, and other engineering professionals. SmartSource and kas also partner to provide operational guidance, form effective partnerships, and co-manage the Community Broadband Action Network.
Strategy Advising and Business Acceleration
Serve as The Emerge Foundation contracted Executive Director and liaison to the Silicon Prairie startup community. Provide business model and organizational development services, manage seed capital, and advise enrolled ventures on business development matters. Also coordinate resources that include networks of mentors, investors, capital partners, affiliated organizations, and venture founders.
Contracted CEO and CFO Services
Lead strategic planning, business development, financial analysis, and project implementation for innovative businesses and Family Office clients. Coordinate client services through independent financial agents and legal services to serve the professional needs of both businesses, investors, and very high net worth individuals.
Teach the application of entrepreneurial concepts at the EMERGE@Simpson College program. Develop program components with staff and faculty, mentor on-campus venture teams, and advise on launch strategies. Teams develop a proof of concept with value propositions, a viable business model canvas, and a business plan as they progress. Also work with the John C. Culver Public Policy Center to integrate the Polarity Approach to Continuity and Transformation in business and policy development.
